The Great Farmer – Hazrat Inayat Khan

The Most Experienced Farmer – The current Pir – Appoints the Dar-us-Salams (Vice Presidents of Ziraat), may lead lodges and initiate Experienced Farmers, Farmers, and Workers.

Dar-us-salam (Vice President) – Oversees the Ziraat Activity under the direction of the Most Experienced Farmer. Appoints Ziraat Council members. This administrative role is rotated. Terms can vary between 3 and 6 years. There are two Dar-us-Salams; one currently oversees Ziraat in North America & Oceania and the other oversees  Ziraat in Europe and Turkey.

Ziraat Council – The Ziraat Council assists the Dar-us-Salam in envisioning and administering the Ziraat Activity. 

Experienced Farmers – Experienced Farmers may lead lodges and may initiate Farmers and Workers. They have usually been committed Farmers in Ziraat for an extended period of time. 

Farmers – Farmers may lead lodges and initiate Workers. Farmers have a significant understanding of Ziraat, both its inner meaning and its outer expression. They have either completed a course in training (yet to be developed), have been attuned to Ziraat for some time, or have the equivalent in related life experience. Currently, Farmers must be Inner School initiates and carry an attunement to Hazrat Inayat Khan, and can participate in many Inayatiyya Leaders’ trainings.

Workers – Workers may participate in all non-leadership Ziraat programs and activities. Some experienced Workers may conduct lodges with permission of a Farmer or Experienced Farmer. The historic initiations of Plougher, Harrower, Sower, Reaper, Thresher, and Garnerer are now subsumed under the title “Worker”. If you are interested in being initiated as a Worker in Ziraat refer to the Initiation page of this website.
